Brewer’s Yeast
Brewer’s yeast is a type of dietary yeast that is exceptionally high in a number of essential nutrients. It also contains several unique therapeutic compounds such as beta 1,3 glucan and skin respiratory factor.
Brewer’s Yeast is used in these conditons:
Acne:
A German clinical trial undertaken in 1989 found that five months’ brewer’s yeast treatment resulted in good to very good results in 75% of acne sufferers (as rated by a physician).
Diarrhea:
Brewer’s yeast alleviates diarrhea when diarrhea is caused by infections by toxic bacteria. In one human study brewer’s yeast was found to be useful for the treatment of Clostricium difficile-induced diarrhea.
Diabetes Type 2:
A clinical study found that eight weeks of treatment with chromium-rich brewer’s yeast improved glucose tolerance, insulin sensitivity and reduced elevated blood fats in elderly diabetes type 2 patients.
These effects were likely to be due to the chromium content of brewer’s yeast.
Immunity:
The beta 1,3 glucan content of brewer’s yeast is an effective stimulant of the immune system. A trial conducted during the 1970s confirmed the ability of brewer’s yeast to increase resistance to bacterial and viral infections by enhancing the function of the immune system.
Insulin Resistance:
A clinical study found that eight weeks of brewer’s yeast consumption improved insulin sensitivity (reduced insulin resistance) in elderly diabetes mellitus type 2 patients.
This effect may occur from the high chromium content of brewer’s yeast.
Skin Health & Appearance:
Brewer's yeast contains several skin-enhancing compounds including beta 1,3 glucan and skin respiratory factor.
Wounds:
Brewer’s yeast contains several wound healing compounds including beta 1,3 glucan that stimulate immune system processes that accelerate the healing of wounds.
Dosage:
4,000 – 16,000 mg (4 - 16 grams) per day.
